How Fingaon Works
The end-to-end lifecycle of work on Fingaon — from discovering a service to a paid final invoice — and the words that describe each step.
Fingaon connects clients who need finance services with service partners (CA / tax / accounting firms) and service networks who deliver them. Every engagement follows the same predictable path, whether it's a single service or a complex multi-provider service package. Each step is tracked so both sides always know what is happening and what comes next.
How work moves through Fingaon
The journey, step by step
- 1
Discover
A client browses the marketplace and finds a published service or service package from a verified firm.
Next →The client opens the service and raises an engagement request.
- 2
Request & Match
The client submits a service engagement describing what they need. If it's a complex package, Fingaon or the lead partner uses the service network to match each component to the right provider. The firm (or network of firms) receives it in their workspace.
Next →The firm reviews the request and prepares a quote.
- 3
Quote
The firm sends a quote — the commercial estimate for the work, including professional fees, applicable GST, and any pass-through costs.
Next →The client reviews and accepts the quote.
- 4
Pay
Depending on the service, the client pays up front, or the firm raises pay orders during delivery (for government fees, deposits, or milestones).
Next →Work begins.
- 5
Deliver
The firm does the work, requests any documents it needs, and moves the request through its delivery states. The client can track progress and upload documents.
Next →When the work is done, the firm closes it out with a final invoice.
- 6
Invoice & complete
The firm issues the final invoice, which reconciles everything already paid against the total. Once settled, the engagement is complete.
Terminology
These are the words that appear across your Hub or Workspace. Getting them straight avoids most confusion.
- — the overarching body of work.
- — a bundle of related services.
- — collaborative partner relationships.
- — what the client asks for.
- — the estimate you accept.
- — an interim collection during the work.
- — the work itself.
- — the settlement document at the end.
Quote vs Invoice
A quote is the estimate you accept before work starts. An invoice is the bill issued after delivery. They are linked, but they are not the same document. See Quote vs Invoice.
What the statuses mean
Fingaon tracks each entity through a defined set of states. You will see these on requests, quotes, and payments.
